To know anyone’s good side, one needs god grace. When I saw my teacher very early I realized he was a great man. His own family members who include his wife and his parents never felt he had any thing of substance. This is same with many people. They can accept people who are dead and gone as great genius. But with a living guru they attack, misbehave and ill-treat. If people were to see my teacher without prior introduction, they would have considered him nut or useless. Some times he was difficult to handle. I have been with him for more than 20 years. I meet him when he was 21 and I am going to be 40 next year. Very few people would have stuck on with him. We had share of differences and strong preference. The reason I believed was that he had great spiritual potential. Of course this is due to god’s grace. One of my friend’s mother learned astrology from me. They left it half way through. She could never see my astrological ability or genius in me. I gave her son who is my friend the book on mantra shastra or kalachakra. He was so closed in his mind. There was no element of openness. In fact if one uses the book on mantra shastra one will evolve fast in deity yoga. He was passing some comments which was plain, silly and cannot accept or did not even apply it. He had spiritual prejudice or spiritual bias. He has siddies for choosing wrong teachers. He told me one day that he got eka muki rudrakasha. And he paid heavy price for it. I told it was fake with out even seeing it. It turned out to be true. He went to one kriya yoga teacher and he had fever over there, I knew he had chosen a wrong teacher which he had realized it after two years. Many times I have told men that their wife is talented or genius. They will just laugh at it. There are two reasons- As human being who ever is close we can never see their greatness, their ability or potential. We will see their faulty and undeveloped side. Secondly closer we are, lesser our abilities is seen. It is taken for obviousness. Familiarity breeds contempt. If Socrates or lahiri mahayasa were to live today, many people would not take them seriously. We have certain notions how there spiritual people must be. If some one has to go to Ramakrishna parhamasa they surely would not realized his spiritual genius. They would see him as a very ordinary person. I have seen people who are in far away countries appreciate the article I write. Distance is a useful tool in love as it gives open eyes One of my student I asked her how did she see my as her spiritual teacher she said “gods grace”. Lot of situations events unfolded in manner which you had foresaid”. I think one require god’s grace to see the goodness or brightness side of any one.
