LOVE AND POWER OF MAYA

Whenever any person loves any other person, the power of the Maya will operate. Of course there are lots of book, research, philosophy, and quotes on loves. When the power of the maya operates what happens is that you will see only what is wrong with the person near you. One does see all the good things about the person who is away from you.
That is why I used to say to people that even if enlightened being is close by you, one cannot see it or believe it due to the power of the maya. This is truer for husband, wife parents and children. Sometimes we can see the parents telling good things about other’s children than seeing the good things of their children. Many times their children say in their parent’s old age “hey my parents do not see anything good in me”.

Following things will happen
one cannot see the good qualities of a person.
We will see limitation even if they do good. My father was excellent communicator, but I used to see him as a talkative person.
We do not appreciate the good qualities. Instead we strongly focus even the small errors. This you see with those parents who cannot praise their children openly. They will praise their children behind the back. I use to tell my mother “why don’t you appreciate me directly instead of you talking good things about me behind my back”.
Next is whenever we see or appreciate the good things of the people around us, the other person will be sarcastic, hurtful and will not take our comments seriously. Shri shri Ravi Shankar used to joke that when someone says good thing about us, we never tend to believe. But when they say evil things we tend to believe.

We cannot be happy due to small things. Having coffee together or happy or sharing a joke does not happen. I have heard a wife who said “I cannot talk anything light, always serious issues are discussed with my husband”.
The moment we share a joke, talk lightly and do not even try to be happy, the power of maya stops operating.
I have seen meditators who have glum serious face because they think that enlightenment means never to laugh and all the time they are trying to correct others.
That is why people never realised the spiritual greatness of the great master like yuketeswar or ramakrishnan. Only when they passed away many close people regreted the loss.

May all beings be free from the power of maya and learn to love any one.
