Many people confuse spiritual truth from personal truth. Remember truth is like a diamond and many people can get confused. What is true for your teacher might not be true for you. Each and every path is different. This is very difficult to accept and digest. Once I went to my teacher who was as an aghori and tantric and told him as follows “sorry I cannot drink and smoke ganja like you. My limited understanding about this path does not suit me. Allow me to find my way. I require your blessing”. After that I under went a lot of churning and few months later the fears and doubts which I had got dissolved. Today when I look back my decision looks correct. I am the only person in the tantric group of my teacher who do not smoke or drink. He respects me and i respect him for that. Of course we have sat sang I use his insight, blessing and energy in my own way. Remember god is everywhere. How you reach him is a personal journey. Some times teacher can guide you; share the experience which might not fit into the personal truth, circumstances, situations and energy. Allow that flexibility. The sincerest expression with the teacher is to be true to the path. Swami anatha chaitnaya said many people start the path and as the time passes we lose focus. We do not focus on god. We think service etc. and we say we will follow bhagwan ramana and yet if there is no growth in spiritual life, we do not change. Do not go on following same routines. It is journey of many life times and one needs to be true to one’s own heart. Some people’s energy does not fit in with tantra or advitha or some bhajan group and they need to accept it and move on. From
one high to another high My teacher said to me very early to be true to oneself. That is the greatest truth in spiritual path. I ask myself if someone says “I am god” then why did not I realise it. These kinds of simple questions would disturb me. This usually will lead me to search, answers and meditation.

va masi- thou art that is great is truth. but then it blooms through
personal truth. The great saraha learned Buddhist deepest principle
from an arrow man, the great naropa learnt from a prostitute. One
needs to rediscover the great truth from our own personal principles,
instead simply quoting like a parrot. Spiritual fantasy and spiritual truth hardly meets. It hurts. There was a guy who used to say that he can do one lakh japa and but he realised he cannot do even 20,000. He could not accept it. In adviatha they say you do not need practise. He jumped in to that principle. appo deepo bhava- be a lamp unto thyself said the great Buddha in his dying moments. Have balance and accept that truth is there and we have not realised it. Once this acceptance comes then one begins to search truly. Then we will ask ourselves that “I am doing this technique but why i am not seeing progress in meditation life”.
